So far in my journey of becoming an advanced balisong flipper, I've mastered many intermediate moves. I have also learned some advanced moves, but I still have to get more consistent. My main question is how long I will take to learn these advanced moves, because it can take a very long time to get consistent and comfortable. One challenge I've encountered is in the balisong itself. One of the pivots likes to unscrew when I drop it and it makes the handles very loose. It is a $90 trainer and I'm hoping to buy my first live blade for $220 very soon. That might also increase my skill. My first goal is to learn the twirl ladder, a move suggested to me by a friend who is an advanced flipper.
I'm getting a bit smoother with the twirl ladder. This is an extremely difficult move for me because I've mostly been doing rollovers, fans, aerials, etc. for the entirety of the time I've been flipping. I hardly do any ladders. I'm becoming unmotivated because it's cold in my house and flipping is much more difficult in winter. The only thing I can do is keep practicing over the break.
